As I promised, I wanted to show the deep ties and connections with the Ward, Chiles, Adams and Lynch families.
We have been concentrating on Susan Lynch Dearing Ward and here is some information on her family tree.
Susan Lynch Dearing was the Daughter of
Colonel James Griffin Dearing and Mary Anna Lynch Dearing.
Colonel James Griffin Dearing was the son of Captain James Dearing and Elizabeth (Betsy) Adams.
Elizabeth (Betsy) Adams was the daughter of Robert Adams and Penelope Lynch Adams.
Penelope Lynch Adams was the daughter of Major Charles Lynch and Sarah Clark Lynch.
Mary Anna Lynch Dearing was the daughter of
Anselm Lynch and Susan (Miller) Baldwin Lynch
Anselm Lynch was the son of Colonel Charles Lynch and his wife Anna Terrell.
Colonel Charles Lynch was the son of Charles and Sarah Clark Lynch
Susan Lynch Dearing's father and mother had the same great grandfather and mother in Charles and Sarah Clark Lynch so she would have had close ties to them and consequently most of her family is buried in that cemetery. Not only that, but she married Robert Henry Ward who was:
Robert Henry Ward was the son of Charles Terrell Ward and Martha K. Henry. A little side note. Martha Henry was a grandaughter of Patrick Henry.
Charles Terrell Ward was the son of Robert Adams Ward and Betsy Terrell Ward.
Robert Adams Ward was the son of William Ward and Mildred Adams.
Mildred Adams was the daughter of Penelope Lynch and Robert Adams.
and
William Ward was the son of John Ward and Ann Chiles.
Betsy Terrel Ward was the daughter of Captain Charles Lynch Terrell and Sallie Lynch Terrell.
Sallie Lynch Terrell was the daughter of Charles Lynch and Anna Terrell Lynch.
And once again Charles Lynch was the son of Charles Lynch and Sarah Clark.
And a few side notes:
After the death of John Ward's wife Ann Chiles, John would marry Sarah Clark Lynch the widow of Captain Charles Lynch. Also Anna Terrell Lynch's name was Anna Chiles Terrell. She was a cousin to Ann Chiles that was married to John Ward. Below is Charles Lynch and Anna Chiles Terrell Lynch's grave markers at Avoca in the Lynch Cemetery.
